WI is extremely inconsistant at times...and they like to take the match to the last ball. WIth this in mind, BD bowlers should make proper use of their sluggishness.
What I've noticed also is, after a good show (in this case lower order batting) our team kinda fails. It happened after the win against Aussies in England, and then against the Aussie 1st match in Dhaka this year. But anyway...Inshallah we will win

I am waiting to see some creativity from our esteemed 'think-tank.' That includes having a flexible batting order. I would like to see Rafique or Mashrafee come at 4 to give the innings some impetus. In the middle overs, with a softer ball and the slower bowlers bowling...they could be most effective. Using Rafique/Razzak at first change could also be a viable option. I have a feeling we will run them close this time.

I completely agree. I would rather see that we get bundled out for 150 trying to chase 300 than surviving to reduce the margin of defeat and scoring a 'respectable' 250...Our batting performance in the last game was commendable, but at no point were we even remotely challenging the Sri Lankan total. Seemed to me like we accepted defeat even before we came into the bat.

we are smoking "optimism-juana".:p c'mon man...we believe in our team...win or lose...we support them...that's why we hang here in this forum. We sure got our limitations...everybody does...but I truely believe we've enough talent in our line up to beat any team on any given day!

While chasing for 303 against SL, we made 265 .
Fortunately, 36 came from extras, which is the second highest run after Saqibs 67 who powdered our ugly faces of batting!!
I rate this another horrible batting performance.
With this batting form, I cant even dream about a win against WI .
may be I need something to smoke.......
consider the partnerships: 22, 33, 23, 0, 63, 14, 22, 49, 38, 1
There is only one partnership above 50 among the 1st seven wickets (4 for SL)! With this poor performance, it would be impossible to make any upset against WI.

So, we have had loads on discussions on our faults, failures, positive sides against SL and of course the possibility of win against WI.I believe we can do it.Looking forward to watch a solid performance from boys tomorrow.

I agree with you 100%.
This time (against WI) our top order is going to show a "rich" performance though. As a result a win is not impossible!?

Gayle uttered some potential comments about BD in the Anandabazar Potrika. Here is the link: http://www.anandabazar.com/10khela6.htm

well first and foremost, we need to replace Rasel with Shahdat. Gayle and other WI toporder will murder Rasels Medium Fast (??) bowling. I believe we should bat first if we win the toss and then try to form partnerships. Openers meaning Ash and Nafess should try to score runs not just bolck everything. then the middle order hopefully will score some runs. we all very well know that IF Ash click tommorow, WI Bowlers will be in some trouble. Insallah things will work out for us tommorow.

WI is hit with a number of injury problem ahead of tomorrows match. Sarwan, Morton and Smith are not fully fit, suffering from fever.
Stage seems to be well set for a Bangladesh victory.

I don't know... they may still play some of the virus infected players . I hope they don't spread the virus. We may end up not playing the best team against ZIM and loosing all three games.

If our top order can perform decently, we can post 275+ against this attack. That is a target that would get harder to reach at night even for Australia.

Dear Tiger eye,
I am not very sure about your estimate of WI bowlers. Personally i see them as a good and upcoming banch of pacers. Currently WI is the only team after Eng who got two real FAST bowler in the squad. Both JE Taylor and FH Edwards are bowling really good recently and our batsmen should be carefull abt their pace. Moreover, they got Ian Bradshaw who is currently ranked 6th in ODIs bowlers ranking. So any thought of a poor WI bowling could be dengarous.
On another point, this is almost the first time i ever hard that dew (or moisture) can speed up the ball. During night grass become soggy and wet and so do the ball but the pitch remain dry and so why the ball shoot? Generally the ball become slipary and most of the time bowlers find it difficult to grip it properly. If a ball shoot then its most likely cause is the situation of the pitch....not because of dew.

With the humiliation in the DFL cup no Indian player can dare to get out on the street of Jaipur. That is why they need security. Whereas, we can sing hindi songs, speak hindi with Media and disguise ourselves.
