Spot on. Under Mushfiq's captaincy the team has turn into an ultra defensive scared bunch! Mushfiq said yesterday, after scoring 217, they had no plan to take wickets, rather, planned to slow down the run rate in the 1st ODI. Wow! With this loser mentality you cant win a match let alone a battle.

I must point finger to the new coach here as why he is not working on changing this kind of defensive mentality. If the captain is losing it in the field, the coach much be proactive and act/guide the team/captain accordingly instantly.

Exactly what I was thinking. If he hadn't scored his 100 in the first match, we would have made another 70! He was unlucky in today's match. The ball almost didn't touch him.

This was actually far worse than the worst case scenario I posted. No "slow" ODI 100 from @Na(zimuddin)mul, and no 20-odd from the recently retired Mrs. Bogura either. No wonder our abject suckiness was exposed like this. Nowhere close to an SJP in this match.

Positives: Koushik's bowling, and Mrs. Benson scoring an ODI 30.

I hate to beat el caballo viejo here, but let's look at some simple facts.

1. Not having Mohammad Nazimuddin bat means subtracting at least 150 runs per innings from the Bangladeshi total.

2. Not having Mohammad Nazimuddin bowl means subtracting at least 6 wickets per innings from the Bangladeshi total, whilst adding 100+ runs to the opposition's.

3. Not having Mohammad Nazimuddin field means dropping at least 5 catches and blowing 2 or 3 run-out opportunities per innings whilst conceding at least 50 runs to the opposition.

4. Not having Mohammad Nazimuddin keep means blowing at least 5 dismissals per innings whilst conceding 50 extra runs in byes and what not.

We won't win without the greatest player not only in our history, but also la historia del universo conocido. Amaruddin! Tomaruddin! Nazimuddin! Nazimuddin! Word.

i honestly thought we bowled admirably, we were very unlucky to not pick up as many early wickets as per effort of the bowlers. We are disastrous with the bat. playing too many aerial shots too early in the innings.

Bowling well can only get you that far if the captain sets a woefully defensive field.
