Weak team in terms of pace attack!
They are going to miss Nazmul highly!

Ok, let's look a the bright side.
This Duleep Trophy will teach us how to select the best team for the England Tour. We probably got carried away with our win against Zim. We miss Nazmul badly in this game.

East zone heading for a 450

The pitch seems to be Spinner friendly... and RANA should hav been used more(atleats 10 overs..) specially after he had such a good ODI series vs. the ZIMs..

we didn't carry away, we just didn't have fit players available...poor whatmore..... now we gotta see how rokon/alok is doing..if they fail, selectors pls let them play bd domestic comp for at least 2 yrs before even consider to call them in national squad. Razzak can be considered ..

Maybe not. This is just a frustration from my side

Ash used 8 bowlers so far. Maybe he should have given Kapali to bowl as well.

LRS (Laxmi Ratan Shukla) made it to the national team for ODIs as an all-rounder at the age of 17 or so following his devestating century in a limited-over first class match.

He played a couple of ODIs against Pakistan and while he didn't really do badly, he had no place to fill.

His batting is highly under-rated - he can really explode and tonk even a quality bowler to all parts of the ground.

My current ranking for the Indian teams is as follows:

1. West Zone
2. South Zone
3. North Zone
4. Central Zone
5. East Zone

It will be interesting if BCB XI gets to play West Zone comprising Sachin, Pathan, Zaheer, Agarkar and a whole lot of talent that seems ready to wear the Indian colors. If that happens, BCCB should send out some replacements like Mashrafe, Enamul Haque and Refique. It will be a good experience for all of them.

I'm sure Whatmore is using this to experiment with team composition. Also first game as a skipper ever for Ash. That said, our batting will be the key. We are looking at chasing 450+ in the 1st innings.

Default Yet more subtle cricindo stuff ...

Shukla and Ganguly slam hundreds on opening day

the following exerpt caught my attention:

... Bangladesh, who are playing their first game of the competition, used eight bowlers in their bid to break the partnership but it was too little too late on a fiery debut in Indian first-class cricket.

--- any decent journalist would mention that this is at best a 3rd string BD attack. something like ...

The BCB XI, who are playing their first game of the competition, and utilzing some non-regulars to the national side, used eight bowlers in their bid to break the partnership but it was too little too late on a fiery debut in Indian first-class cricket.

Not gonna lose my sleep over it - but ei shob tao ektu gaye laagey.

Looks like it will be a long long game for BCB-Eleven team. Funny that now its upto Ahsraful, Afab, Alok and Rokon to save BCB from total disaster. And all of them (in some degree) is not very consistent with the bat recently.

Ashraful: Talented and had some great innings. But also can score couple of ducks. This is the time for Ash to show, how he perform against all odds.

Aftab: Except for last one-day game, scored some 20+ and thats it. Lets see how he react after his superb performance in last one-day.

Rokon: I have high hopes for Rokon in this game. But he is opening which may not work-out for him. Also he is highly in-consistent player.

Alok: Talented but out of form. One good performance in this game quickly can revive his career quickly.

At the end, these four players can save us from humiliation. But on the other hand, these four can easily flop all together. And then, there will be no Rafique, Pilot, or Taposh to save us from total disaster.

It's not all over yet....let's see how our players do in batting.
Winning this match might be hard, but a draw is not still impossible.

Any decent journalist would've mentioned exactly what has been mentioned. Should they state that this is a 3rd string attack for a 5th string batting and 10th string fielding and 20th string wicket-keeping and so on.

You guys are losing credibility with the repeated "wolf" calls. Cricinfo paranoia at worse!

Kopal Mondo:
Shukla, who was dropped on 22 by Shahjada Hossain at point, then attacked Bangladesh bowlers hitting massive sixes mostly in front of the wicket.

Am I the only one who thinks this is a drawn game, without even watching how bd performs with the bat?

So the East zone made big score, big deal. They are a good side, with god players, capable of doing very good, and they have to win this match in order to survive in the tournament.

We should have confident in our team and not give up because the opponent performed well so far.

DJ I agree with you, the winning about cricinfo is getting so tyring that I am sick of it.

Yes there has been time when cricinfo hasn't been favourable towards bd in some of it's articles. But to assume that they are in a campaign to undermine BD in each and every way is sick.

We have to realize that there will be time when the team will perform bad and there will be times when someone will write about it.

take a chill pill guys.

They are still the very best source we have about BD crikcet.

Blah
