Why only ODI ? As we would have to face upto many 400+ scores , it is always good to have a reasonable leggie to break the monotony and who knows like now pick up the occasional wicket. He is a half decent bowler.

Well, he is already bowling in Tests, I meant he will be also bowling regularly in ODI.

In fact not only should he persevere with his bowling; Aftab also should not completely give it up. Also this ridiculous assumption of Aftab and Rasel being only ODI players must cease.

Does anybody know which is the Sri Lankan ODI team and which is the test team ? We have not got that many accomplished players to start thinking along those lines.

To me only five or six players lend themselves for automatic selection. I will go by my order of precedence.

Mushfiq [ puts a premium on his wicket ]. Wicket-keeping not quite upto the mark but I would select him anyway as a batsman.

Ashraful [ usual talent etc. etc. ; of course, captain now ]

Aftab [ usual talent etc. etc. but like Ashraful too good at least for a team like ourselves to afford to leave him out as any replacement would be inferior.]

Rasel [ always my first choice as bowler; yes, before Murtaza. Rasel has been badly treated by selectors and fans. People just go on about his pace; his class cannot be overlooked. Can you imagine Vaas or Pollock being dropped to pick Maharoof or Nel ? ]

Murtaza [ he also can work on his batting. Very disappointing in Sri Lanka. I almost got the impression that he was not even trying. Maybe some health related issues here. ]

Razzak. [ not a classical spinner by any means, but the best we can get. You don't reach no.9 or no.10 in ODI rankings for nothing ! ]

No one else is an automatic choice for me. Note I have not included Rafique in my list. This is not an omission but sadly a reflection of our situation and maybe his age. I am not saying he should be dropped but I would not pencil in his name automatically. Enam , of course, also should be in the radar.

Yet another batting failure!! Our bowlers are doing pretty good but that's not the problem, the problem is everytime our batsmen bat they get out early and then collapse or just collapse after one wicket is gone!! I really think if Bangladesh scored around 220 to 230 we could have had a shot at winning cause for 141 the Sl team already lost 5 wickets and we could have tried to defend it and may be we would have been successful but that didn't happen and most probably not going to happen on the next match!!!

Your auto selections are for ODI or Test?
