-Bilateral series excluded, listed here the tournaments where 3 or more nations were involved, and there was actually a final match to decide the champion.
I do not mean time undermine team India. Without a shadow of doubt, as Mashrafee said, they are the world beater. Winning T20 WC back in 07 under Dhoni's leadership, and ipl have changed their perspective and mentality. The main purpose of my post is to shed some light on team india of late 90s, early 00s. They mostly used to have great start and somehow ended up being the runner up. It was their 10th attempt at trying to winning a final in 2002, they succeeded in doing so in the famous final of NatWest in 2002 against England. Prior to that, they failed win a trophy 9 straight times, losing 9 final matches over the period of 3+ years
I think, as BD cricket fans, we are over-reacting on our final losses. We're playing international cricket on regular basis only for 18-22 years. In sha' Allah, we'll soon witness our tigers winning major finals, and winning a final or two is what's needed as our next step to shape the cricket's future for this nation. In my personal opinion, it's just matter of time. As long as BCB able to nurser talent and not let youngsters become wasted like 'Nasir' and 'Shabbir', our cricket will be great.
