The best leaders are the ones that didnt want leadership but was forced upon by the people. I'd be worried if a player put his hand up and said yep i want to be captain cos that implies there are lowkey reasons i.e. ego, fame etc. as to why he wants to be captain. Compared to someone who says no i dont want captaincy because that shows he is humble. Even the best leaders in history are introverted. Im obviously not saying Mominul is the next coming but im just saying those arent good reasons to say yes Mominul shouldnt be captain. Mominul looks like the yoda type to me. Wise humble little man that goes for the kill and is out-thinking players in his head even though on the exterior he looks like he isn't thinking about much.

If captaincy affects his batting then fair enough he shouldnt be captain but we have seen many batsman become even better players with captaincy. And besides he is basically a test match specialist at this point so it wouldnt be a bad idea making him test captain as well. But anyways i do think Mominul as captain is a very decent choice at this point in time. We know what we are gonna get with Tamim, Shakib, Mushy. Shabbir too young and immature. Riyads spot in the team is under threat. After those we don't really have any other candidates really. On top of that when the Shakibs, Tamims, Mushys retire Mominul will be the most experienced player in the test team so its not a bad idea looking into the future and thinking long term.

Sorry but anyone else apart from Mushy is not fit to captain Bangladesh.

I have seen Shakib and Tamim captain, horrible captain to say the least. With all due respect Mushy has been a bit more attacking lately. He is still CRAP, but he is the best amidst a group of horrible/woeful captain.

Riyad would be the ideal captain but he should be no-where near the test side. In ODIs we might see Riad taking the responsibility.

In 3-5 years time we should consider Miraz or Soumya. We just need a stop gap till then.
It shouldn't be Tamim or Shakib, but probably will be. And Mullah shouldnt even be in the team. So that just leaves us with Imrul or Mominul. I wouldnt mind either. Kayes showed alot of guts in that NZ innings.

Tamim not performing kinda makes it hard for the board to take Mushy's captaincy away. He was the next in line player to take over. Shakib they wont rely on, Riyad has his own slot under question so really there isnt anyone among the seniors that can take the leadership role. I guess they will make Mushy drop the gloves first and then give him another series with the captaincy and hope Tamim or Riyad sort of outperforms some way

Wow ppl considering Tamim or Sarkar as a Captain.. pure BS.As if we are going back to ICE AGE. They don't have any credibility to become test captain.

Talking about his future as a keeper the BCB President added, “He [Mushfiqur] is Bangladesh’s best batsman. But he is very disappointed [On his keeping]. But if we play Mushfiqur only as a batsman and add another keeper in the playing eleven, whom will we drop? In that case, unfortunately, Sabbir Rahman or Riad [Mahmudullah] might face the axe. This is our only option. We will take a final call on this issue very soon.”
Lol there goes Sabbir's spot

Hopefully this will be a new era for our test team

It says sabbir or riyad, so riyad is in line for a chop as well.

it does not say anything is confirmed. First this is from a zero credibility source. Second, even if its true, Papon said there isnt anyone to takeover so they havent solved that puzzle yet.

But its obvious one of Sabbir or Riyad will face the axe as Nannu pretty much announced that they will play a proper keeper for next test.

Nah Riyad is safe, he just scored a 50 and also senior status.

Also if BCB takes away Rahim's captaincy and gloves, then they might have to compromise with him to still keep his bro at least

Will be interesting to see whether they go with nurul or liton. Nurul played more recently as keeper but was dropped for India where liton made the squad. If the go with nurul then they're chopping and changing a bit. Personally I hope they go with liton, though nurul showed some potential in his matches (but so did liton and his FC record is better).

Nurul is a better WK than Litton. But Litton is a better WK-Batsman than Nurul. I would be happy with either. Just get the gloves off Mushy.

It's not that Ryad or Sabbir will be retained or dropped for good. We are playing lot of cricket this year. They will have the chance to regain their spot if the other doesn't perform.
