As opposed to the previous editions, I think in this one the players were more into it (except Gayle. He's not into anything). They really wanted it. The West Indies going head-to-head spiced it up a bit more. The bitter disappointment in Sammy's face vs joy in Russell/Bravo said it all.

S/O all the foreign players that came to play in this. Means a lot to the people of Bangladesh.

Three things I want to see happen (other than players getting paid):

1) No changes in the squads! That totally ruins the chemistry or intensity.
2) Organized plans for stadiums, scheduling, and broadcasting.
3) Regulations in jerseys!

^^I understand what you are saying Dilscoop about not changing squads but a lot happens within a year right. for example:

New U-19 players coming in.
Kicking out deadwoods
Maybe new owner/new management/budget constraints etc...

I think The biggest Change BCB can do is expand BPL to at least Three Stadiums not just Dhaka/Chittagong

^ I don't mean not improving or updating it. I mean doing a whole reshuffle and new draft where Shakib ends up in Chittagong Rockets, Tamim in Pabna Bears, Mash in Sylheti Sylhet.

This season BPL is much-much better than last season. These are my suggestion for next season:

1. Another franchise base team (return of Syhlet) which will make it 8 in total.
2. 4 stadiums instead of 2 (Mirpur, Zahur, Syhlet and Fatullah).
3. Reduce squads to a maximum of 16 players.
4. On some days, 3 games should be held during the course of the day rather than 2.
5. Improvement in broadcasting.
6. Attract more crowds.

16 players is too little I think. 18 or 20 should be the max. 5 subs is way too little for a month long tournament.(Injury, out of form/ combination issues etc)

I would like to see some Australian and South African players next year.
Dont want to see players who have retired many days ago and dont have much to offer anymore like Jayawardene, Afridi.
Want a team from Sylhet
More venues
Reduce the price of the ticket
Hope to see no payment issue this time

Now the big question - is BPL helping us to develop new talents?

Last year Rony totally failed to live up to his BPL hype, will Maruf be any different this year?

^ BPL isn't a developmental farm league. You can't expect or ask for growth in this fun league. That should happen in BKSP and HP. How many IPL-ers make the Indian team?

Also, calm down with the quick un-sticky. Getting old. Took forever to find this thread.

Ideally players should pick up a lot from BPL in terms of learning and development. I was just watching how Dwayne Bravo was advising Abu Jayed from mid off. No better way to learn than getting to know how to do it from the best in the business. Sammy's also had great impact on some of the Rajshahi boys.

But its like picking up hints and tips and then not knowing how to practice it for the next 10 months-because the rest of the domestic cricket is so average in comparison.

BTW Other than Bulls and Titans, rest of the franchises didnt even bother to appoint proper head coaches. It was as if captains were running the show. IPL teams not only have foreign head coaches, but trainers, bowling coach, batting coach, fielding coach. Rajasthan Royals even had a mental conditioning coach in Paddy Upton. So obviously young Indian players are bound to pick up a thing or two.

http://www.bdcricteam.com/2016/12/bp...es-punishment/

“The organizers had advised the players to not invite female guests to their rooms. In the case of this Pakistani player, he was advised in particular about a foreign national girl who was on the watch list of the anti-corruption sleuths in the BPL,”

How come this guy didn't get punished? Just cause he is listed as a foreign player eh? Not to mention the FEMALE was listed in the anti-corruption watch list. Sh*t like this really gets on my nerve where 2 guys takes a hit but the other dude gets a pass. If you're going to punish them, hell punish all of them or no one.

Is this the reason why he was excluded from Comilla's XI after only 2 matches or did he leave for NT duty?
