This series still is not over though, it's there for anyone to take. So far we've only had one game which could've easily gone anyone's way. There are still two more games for anyone to win and take the series
Afghanistan needed 77 from last 10 which wasn't easy for an ASSOCIATE SIDE
Bangladesh is a test playing nation with its team having almost a total of 1000 caps. 39 runs needed with 6 wickets remaining. Flat track, bowling attack nothing special. We lost, by 21 runs. Hard to explain that.
And for me the series is lost. Our team usually after such losses goes from bad to worse. This happened once in 2014 where we lost couple of matches we should have against Sri Lanka and struggled the whole year. In the WT20 we lost to india and then were reduced to 74 by New Zealand although a difficult wicket.
I admire the fact that you are being optimistic but winning the series is not only a near-impossible task given the lack of balls we have(england have one). Also winning the next 2 match won't erase the humiliation of this match unless the next 2 match involves us chasing a big total successfully but our team will have a negative feeling always at the back of their head about chasing big totals.
Face it, we already dug a hole for ourselves and no matter how hard we try we can't get out of it. South africa still hasn't been able to do so as far as ICC tournaments are concerned. In our case we don't have player with balls in our entire domestics. Just a bunch of sissies who are adept at taking selfies of their patchy beards. No performance, just selfies.
I blame the management more than anybody else. Our batting did perfectly fine, but since batsman number 7 came on, things quickly went wrong. The tail is too weak. I do not understand why Nasir has been excluded; he's a far better batsman and fielder, and can also bowl some handy off-spin. Isn't he renowned for being a finisher??? If such things aren't corrected by the 2nd ODI, then I think it's safe to say the series is LOST!!! having both Nasir and Shabbir in the team will automatically encourage the others to lift their game at least on the field. That's the difference between Bangladesh, and the teams above us – intelligence.
