Any chance for Naeeym & Rajin Saleh
Guys- What I have observed `Naeeym and Rajin Saleh `- these two names are keep poping up in every threads. Lots of suggestions, arguments, positive n negative comments are outlined about these two.
Don't you think they should be tested again? Personally, I think they deserve a chance in Test rather than odi ( specially Nayeem)..
What do you think folks??

Given their strike rates they'd have to bat top 3, I think no matter format mushy or mominul should be at 3 so that means head have to open. Do we really want naeem or saleh opening and the new ball swinging and seaming all over place? Even if you're thinking of playing them middle order, the middle order is to strong atm to bring them into it. Think we're better off sticking with imrul, shamsur or developing liton and shadman. Saleh will always be one of my favourite BD batsmen though.

Test only, if someone gets injured.
So when is our next test?

Perhaps a big difference between how cricket is played in Australia, England and the sub continent. In Australia or England a professional cricketer will keep playing Sheffied Shield or County cricket very competitively even past 35-regardless of whether they get a shot at NT or not. They will keep working on their game, get the enjoyment and also earn a living from it. Which is why guys like Chris Rogers can make it to the Aussie team.
In Bangladesh especially so many talented cricketers make it to the NT, do very well, lose form, and then get dropped. They never work hard enough to make a return and once that door closes the motivation drops-so much that they stop playing cricket competitively all together. Just see how Aftab Ahmed retired. Nafis Iqbal, Rajin Saleh, Mehrab Hossain Opi other examples.
Rajin Saleh's chances of making a return is close to zero. But Naeem Islam will probably be around. But very soon, with the new breed of cricketers making noise, he too will slide into oblivion.
Of course all that can change if BCB is willing to initiate a very organized domestic calendar which gives cricketers reason to keep playing beyond wanting to play for the NT.

Aftab is not retiring, Esh will be unBanned and kopali is going strong like an Aloukik Duracel. Never give up on AAA. Maybe, an international reunion come World Cup in 2019?

Performances like 1 off 27 balls very good in your estimation?

And, why not! They are still under 35 and playing. If they keep fit and perform exceptionally well in the domestics why shouldn't they be considered for a recall (not like total recall)?
It might be improbable but not impossible.

Nevertheless, Rajin has the best attribute and approach for the test match.. his temperament was 2nd to none but could not flourish at the end. Selector should have him more chance.

Naeem for me would be in the test side insted of Shuvagata. Naeem is useful with the ball and has the right work ethics to succeed batting at test level....

Their situation is similar to Naeem. They all have a chance to get selected in the future. But Rajin Saleh? Wtf. I wonder for how long the OP has been following BD cricket. Even Rajin Saleh himself will find this thread funny.

Yes the way Tamim and Anamul is playing, add Rajin followed by Naeem and Ryiad in ODI.... you will have a rock solid lineup .so solid that they will barely move the scoreboard.
