Hridoy and Shamim got 6 demerit points each, while Rakib got 5.
From the Indian side, Akash Singh got 6 and Bishnoi 5 for the brawl after the match. Bishnoi got two further demerit points for giving Avishek send off after taking his wicket.
Oh well, I guess we can't pick Hridoy for the Zimbabwe Test (4 points = 1 Test or 2 ODI ban). Glad Shoriful was not part of it.
It’s Gr8 for them; to learn from their experiences. All life depends on your perspective. I don’t think they will do that again. https://t.co/unmihZARn7
Ian Bishop is taking some flak for praising our boys as well -
í ¾í´£í ¾í´í ¾í´. No, I am not a coach. & I’m thankful to God for the job has blessed me with. I guess I’ll try to be a lot more negative towards good cricket next time just for youí ½í¸›í ½í¸›.
Well, looks like Hridoy won't be playing for even A-team anytime soon -
Quote:
Bangladesh’s Md Towhid Hridoy accepted the charge of breaching Article 2.21 and has received a sanction of ten suspension points, which equates to six demerit points, which will remain on his record for two years.
Bangladesh’s Shamim Hossain accepted the charge of breaching Article 2.21 and has received a sanction of eight suspension points, which equates to six demerit points, which will remain on his record for two years.
Bangladesh’s Rakibul Hasan accepted the charge of breaching Article 2.21 and has received a sanction of four suspension points, which equates to five demerit points, which will remain on his record for two years.
The suspension points will be applied to the forthcoming international matches the players are most likely to participate in at either senior or U19 level. One suspension point equals a player being ineligible for one ODI or T20I, U19 or A team international match.
Hope we can count upcoming 6 matches against Zim (1 Test, 3 ODI, 2 T20I) and two more matches against Pak (1 ODI, 1 Test) towards those suspension points. Unless Test matches count for more points (?), Hridoy will have to wait for two more matches (Ireland ODIs?) before he can represent Bangladesh at any level.
Hope he will be still ok to play for BCB XI in practice matches?
Still a slap on the wrist. Only matches they have realistically coming their way in near future are BCL and DPL matches. As per Bashar, they will be evaluated during the summer HP camp, and then will be selected accordingly for A-team, Academy, or directly for the national team (a la Miraz).

Papon said BCB will form a U/21 unit, focusing on development of this group of players. Each player will get 1 lakh taka salary monthly as part of the program. After 2 years, BCB will evaluate and may renew the contracts for the players.
He decided against putting them in HP unit, where they would have to compete with older players for a place in the team.
Time to plan on a Global Cup from Big Boys. For that we will need at least 3/4 Shakib and 2 Saifuddin in the team. Also Nannu gotta be on leave during selection season .
