Bangladesh score prediction: 1st Test against India
I still feel Bangladesh has what it takes to score above 400, but if there is a superhuman effort from one of Tamim, Mahmudullah, Mushfiqur or Shakib we may reach 500. But 400 on this pitch should be gettable by the current squad and it may not be enough to save the follow on. We need to score an excess of 600, which will take us to day 4, and push India for a draw because then they will probably declare around 270/280 on Day 5, which may be enough for us to draw the match or even chase it down.
But the best chance for us to come close to a draw or a win, is to score heavily in the first innings, when the pitch is best for batting. By day 3 it should start turning, and by day 4 it may turn a lot, so we need to score about 350 runs tomorrow, and keep 5 wickets in hand, atleast. It still looks like a very good pitch to bat on with no turn offered to the spinners. What approach should Bangladesh take from now onwards?
