Ideally there should be fire lit up on their *** after Shanaka called them out
Now K.Mahmud called out SL, this match is going to be full of drama

It was immature how Sujon responded to Shanaka. Last year, Lanka chased down 172 runs on Sharjah against us, with 5 wickets and 7 balls to spare, against our full strength attack including both Shakib and Mustafiz. Like Miraz said, we should respond to Shanaka on the field, not on news media.

Rumor is that Mushfiq will open with Bijoy, opening up a middle/late order position for Sabbir. Also, Saifuddin (who was expensive against Lanka last year) will be benched to make place for Nasum. Nasum has been seen practicing big shots in net, I guess, to prep to make up for Saifuddin's batting. Sabbir has also been seen practicing his legspin in nets.
Lankan batters generally are not as comfortable against fast bowlers, as opposed to medium pacers. Also, Dubai is a bigger ground where edges against fast bowlers won't fly past the boundary as easily as Sharjah. So, imo, it would be the right call to hold onto Musta-Taskin, dropping Saifuddin.
I would have preferred to see Sabbir to open. But it makes sense not to put so much pressure on him, on his return to international cricket after such a long break, to ease him back through middle order.

Would be surprised to see if Bijoy playing after that shameless 5 off 14 and Mahmud seemed to have directed that selfish remark towards him.

Nagging dance 2.0 this match. Surprised to see Mahmud speak like that, very childish ... Hasaranga will make him eat his words if he is able to do what he does today.

Sabbir Rahman back from hibernation! I can't believe we have to experiment with our openers in a major tournament like this.

Bold moves by Shakib - both Naim-Bijoy out, Sabbir-Miraz to open, Ebadot replaced Saifuddin.

Man, I am a huge slut for Sabbir Rahman
We need more players like him (albeit a bit more consistent)

Sabbir-Miraz showing intent, but not timing well to get the boundaries.

Sabbir was only the half of the experiment, the other half Miraz is doing superb, so success overall! Kudos to Shakib for showing guts going with those two!

Miraz opened before in odis..with the two BS openers in the team it was no brainer that miraz will open if they are dropped. Shakib's input here was putting sabbir to open with miraz..and sabbir with little or no opening exp playing int match after 3 years was thrown to the lions literally by shakib..it was not even that sabbir was opening in domestic...shakib took a gamble and it did not pay off..my problem is that was no calculative gamble..that choice of derive of common sense..it was a idiotic decision

Sabbir got out as he was late on the stroke. He got lot of work to do in the nets to fix his timing.

I rather he goes out for 5 for 6 balls rather than 5 for 14 balls like you know who. Atleast came with a killer instinct where it could have gone either way. That's what the openers needs to do ... not what anamul and naim did

I am not debating that, but was trying to point out how Sabbir looked under prepared to get his timing right against a new ball. Not his fault, but shows how haphazardly our team management work.

Why get rid of Saifuddin?
He was only given two overs. One was towards the end !
Should have replaced Fizz instead

So disappointed by Sabbir. Should have grabbed this opportunity like crazy.. once he gets going he could have done great here. Sad

Damn Miraz, did so much with the bat in 1 match where anamul and naim would take 5 match to score this much lol

Miraz batting like a young Tamim Iqbal reincarnated! It's refreshing to see raw aggression from a Bangladeshi opener!

This is precisely what I wanted to see and the point I was making in all of my rants. Be it if it ends in a short innings, at least show intent instead of wasting valuable deliveries.

Happy they, at last, omitted the one-day openers from T20! would have liked Saifuddin instead Mustafiz and Nasum instead of another one-day/Test player Riyadh! The team would have been perfect and when Nurul comes back take him in instead Mushfiq, and the team would be in some standard!
