Default Carving names on hearts - the Badshah way (Jahangir Saha)

A quality read JS Badsah talks about cricket back in 1970's and now.

"My name was Jahangir Shah. I was a very fair and a good-looking baby, so one of my mother's friend saw me and said, "Yeh toh bilkul badshah jaise lagta hai" (he looks like the king of kings) and that's how the name stuck. Nobody knows me as Jahangir anymore... "Museebat ho gayi hai, (it's become such a hassle)," he jokes.

Indeed he was our ace. Prince followed the King (Badshah).

Well said JAHANGIR SHAH BADSHAH, the great cricketer of the 70s nd the late 70s. We were blessed with some great players in our early days as a cricket nation, their successes remained sporadic until the 1990s, by which time the side had changed from amature to a professional side. By the late 1960s nd 70s we had some great amature cricketer like RAQIBUL HASAN, ASHRAFUL HUQ, TANNA, YOUSUF BABU, DIPU ROY CHOUDHURY, ROBIN, SAMI nd many more. BD had a side recognised as unofficial non TEST playing nation. The team from the 1970s and 1980s is now widely regarded as of the best players we had. During those glory years, we weren't a TEST playing nation but hats-off to those cricketers who kept the game alive nd helped us to reach further.
