Most likely it was an erroneous test result in the case of Taskin. He was cleared in South Africa with a very minimal change in his action. In fact, the slight change in his action is only noticeble on slow motion, and even then only affects his arm below the shoulder line which is actually irelevant according to the ICC's current chucking regulations. Not only that, but when you look at replays, the level of bend in Ashwin's arm is quite similar to that of Taskin's before and after he was banned.

This is not uncommon, nor does it have anything to do with the BCCI.

Brian Vitori was suspended for chucking in February 2016, just 1 month before Taskin, he was then cleared in June. In his very first game back in November, he gets reported again, and subsequently re-banned.

So a guy takes a Test 3 times in 9 months and his results are fail, pass, fail. How is that possible? Either the Tests are not uniform, nor the Tests lack precision.

Regardless, this indicates the sensitivity of the Tests, as currently administered leave a lot to be desired.

Furthermore, Kusal Perera's doping case is further proof that the ICC doesn't necessarily employ competent professionals in these instances. SLC were able to show that the chemical found in his blood/urine sample can be found in that concentration as a result of normal human physiology, thereby providing reasonable doubt and his suspension was vacated immediately.

Any technical or scientific tool has error in measurement, and that is given that the measurement is done properly (actually measuring what is intended to measure) and there are no technical glitches.
