Also, we were definitely going to lose the last warm-up game against Middlesex had the rain, and hence the D/L method not saved us. I was at that match, and we got very lucky. The only match that we played well in was at Northampton against Pakistan. I was at Chelmsford for the first game against NZ, and we looked completely overwhelmed. Probably the occasion, we should have bowled first. Then we played some poor games against WI and Australia, but in our defense, I have to say, those games were played in freezing temperatures, especially the game against WI at Cardiff. Scotland was a lucky escape for the reasons Handle pointed out. And that leaves us with Pakistan. All in all, we won two games but it wasn't a great world cup (Pakistan aside).
