he didn't commit or attempt or conspired to commit any crime. This isn't exemplary of anything.

3 days Ban ? A test match is what they were banned for . That is the punishment for tampering with the Ball. it is not some arbitary punishment that is handed out. Sanctions for all offences are defined and players know of it.
Corruption is seen as a more serious offence than ball tampering btw
