Even if we beat India it will be remembered as a one-off event similar to the 2005 cardif win. We need to be consistently good and deliver results over a period of time. We have started to do that and already opposition teams do not take us lightly anymore. But we need to do a lot better. One stumping miss or one run out chance miss or one bad no ball call should not end our chances. We need to be able to create more winning moments in the match and create more wicket taking opportunities so that one missed chance is not the end of it all.

Once we are able to do that, respect will come our way from the critics.
Something extraordinary in a world cup which is watched by millions will change perception , doing something good in bilaterals on the other hand will not change many mindsets as those are not followed by many.

We have beaten India , South Africa , Pakistan in the same year in bilaterals before and consistently made Asia cup finals beating Pakistan in the last two editions. What has that done to change perceptions ? Nobody outside Bangladesh seems to even remember those results. Even McCullum doesn't remember the consistent Banglawashes dished out in his playing career.

People won't remember such series , they will remember the thing that was amazing and beyond anything they have seen before. That is a start , then we can concentrate on doing well in bilaterals consistently to back our performances in world cup.
